What is Bluetooth?

Bluetooth is a wireless technology that allows Bluetooth enabled devices to "talk" to each other using radio frequencies over a short range. In the case of Bluetooth handsfree kits, your phone will automatically connect to the kit when the kit becomes activated (i.e. when you turn the key of the car on). This means you don't even need to take your phone out of your pocket to be handsfree in your vehicle.

For a person that changes vehicles regularly we would recommend a clip on handsfree kit like the Parrot minikit slim. This kit provides the freedom to move from car to car and remain safe while communicating on your phone.

If you want a nice, simple and unobtrusive system that does not compromise on sound quality and utilises the factory audio system, we would recommend the Parrot CK3000. This is the first of the premium wired car kits that automatically connect to your phone when you turn the car on, mute the car radio and run the call audio through the car's front speakers. Our best seller is the Parrot CK3100 which gives you all the benefits of the CK3000 but includes an LCD display. The Parrot MKi series kits are designed to offer not only handsfree calling but audio integration for Ipod's, USB devices or players with 3.5mm audio outputs. They really do it all!

If you are looking at upgrading your car stereo you can also get systems that include Bluetooth handsfree kits. The JVC KD-R816 is a radio/MP3 player with full iPod control, colour change display and a fully featured handsfree kit including external mic.
